Number one reason to buy this wine: it's $2.99.
Second reason: it's quite good.
Third reason: it's good cheap wine! Great on its own or used in sangria. Or served to your aunt – the one that puts ice cubes in her wine.
Truly, sometimes you just need an easy-going, I'm-not-trying-too-hard wine to unravel with. This Chilean Sauvignon Blanc by Trader Joe's does just the trick, and instantly puts you in that carefree spring/summer mood. When warmer weather strikes, this guy is one of my go-tos.
Smells like heady florals, jasmine comes to mind, and spices, like white pepper.
Tastes like citrus, green apple, and pineapple. Fruity, but not sweet. Would taste great with tortilla chips and a salsa of strawberries, pineapple, avocado, lime juice & cilantro! Was also really nice paired with the following dinners:
NIGHT 1 (inspired by our favorite local haunt, The Outdoor Grill)
Broiled tilapia with fennel-tomato salsa
NIGHT 2 (quite the scrappy, too-lazy-to-cook meal)
Roasted yams (Michael loaded his with shaved pecorino)
Lentil-Quinoa salad with pickles, radishes & spring onion
